His morning kitchen routine is a little different. When I'm making coffee he'll walk in between my legs with his head facing behind me and his butt in front of me. He really likes butt scratches and it's how I pass the time when the coffee is dripping. I'm not allowed to move until sufficient scratches are provided. Sometimes it's a race to finish the daily butt scratch quota before my coffee is done dripping.
LOL! Katie has a routine when she comes inside. She grabs her stuffie soccer ball, runs up to me and wants back rubs as she weaves in and out of my legs.

I continue to marvel that you and Katie found each other. She sounds like just the best, funny, affectionate, smart and so sweet.

Samson is my kitchen helper! There is no 5 second rule in my kitchen. He almost catches stuff mid air! When we are on vacation, Samson and Asher are both in the kitchen assisting me. My mom and sister struggle to accept but I tell them....if they don't like, there's a hotel down the street they can head to! Joking of course with them...but they don't know - inside, I'm not joking! lol

Sprockette is also the kitchen assistant. She loves being exactly in the spot I don't need her to be, and yes she is the pre pre wash cycle for the dishwasher. It must be a lab thing...

Totally came out of the blue. Don't think I was really ready but with winter approaching, a quick trip was necessary. I was tense the entire way, what if we did not mesh. Took all of 2 minutes and Bill was on the floor with her and I was right along with him. It's just one of those things of fate that I don't understand but fully believe in and embrace. How each can be a lab with all the great lab traits but still have such different personalities, each a joy in a different way. I just drink it all in.

I kind of laughed at this, what were you more surprised at, that you let Katie lick the bowl or you showed her every step in the baking process. Personally I think thats great. This is exactly how Hemi and I work pretty much all the time, he is always involved in what ever I am doing. Cleaning house, working in the yard, especially cooking unless I tell him sorry you can't have this, it has onions. He seems to know, nothing good to be had from this cooking experience.

It is really funny how involved they can become in our lives. The other day I was playing guitar and had an AC DC thing going on. Hemi kept bringing me toys, trying to get me to play. Well I have wireless guitar, so pretty soon I was chasing him through the house playing AC DC Back in Black. He would run down to the bedroom, as I am walking down the hall I start playing, Back in Black Intro. He knows I am coming the tension builds and I come around the corner at the chorus and off he goes running to another room. Me following behind. He thought this was a great game. Me too actually.

So glad you and Katie found each other and you get to enjoy each other every day.

LOL I love cooking with my kids too although they aren't into it as much as your Katie, that must be very cute to watch and sweet that she is taking such an interest in cooking with her mommy.

Mine will just sit and watch as I prepare but are off and sleeping while it bakes.
