Busy baking for Easter brunch and of course Katie is close by, matching my every move. Showed her everything, bowl, measuring cup, spoon, eggs, oil bottle, everything. Then proceeded to explain every step to her. She's even peeked through the oven window as I do to check progress. Really! You bet I did and it made the process so much more fun.
Oh, she did get to lick the bowl, cranberry orange loaf.

Baking (and cooking) is so much more difficult without a dog in the kitchen to help and to clean up after you!!
Cranberry orange loaf-sounds good, I'll have a small piece please.
I personally like how Macy lays right in the exact spot I need to stand when I am baking. Her consistency of being 100% in the way is funny to me.
Glad Katie got to taste test the goodies.
Oh but it depends on the time of day!
When I'm cooking dinner Thor likes to wedge himself in between me and the cupboards/counter. He's a very diligent supervisor who doubles as my cleanup crew. He also enjoys providing quality control by sampling veggies or fruit I'm slicing, as long as they aren't green.
His morning kitchen routine is a little different. When I'm making coffee he'll walk in between my legs with his head facing behind me and his butt in front of me. He really likes butt scratches and it's how I pass the time when the coffee is dripping. I'm not allowed to move until sufficient scratches are provided. Sometimes it's a race to finish the daily butt scratch quota before my coffee is done dripping.

LOL I am glad Katie is such a good kitchen helper. As for Thor he has you well trained lmbo
You're my kind of people!
Those are your Grandma genes kicking in. Katie sounds like she appreciates them.
There was a cranberry orange loaf recipe cut out of the paper in the things from my Aunt who passed away recently. I kept it to try, now I really have to try it. Or should I wait for your report on how Katie liked it?

I thought only Cassie had the pure skills to sit exactly where I need to be while cooking. Last night I was cooking some chicken and making a salad to go along with it. Cassie absolutely loves a good salad (at least the parts that she can have). As I cut the pepper, cucumber and tomatoes, Cassie sat perfectly still at my left side. Once I had finished cutting the cucumbers, I ooops dropped a piece which she caught mid air. This repeats with each component of the salad. I was a little slow getting around to giving her a piece of cherry tomato so she stood on top of my foot digging her nails into it. She is not subtle with her wishes.
