    Puppy sitting

We are watching our neighbors' 5-month-old black lab, Magnus, for a long weekend. He's such a lab puppy- everything goes in the mouth, he has the attention span of a butterfly, and he's cute as can be. We're fortunate that he's lost almost all his baby teeth so his piranha puppy-ness is on the wane, but he's still teething and desperately wants to chew on our hands. I'm getting a lot of practice implementing advice from the Biting! sticky thread I started oh-so-many years ago...

We're also fortunate that his owners have laid a good foundation for him, so his housebreaking is in order, he's crate trained, and he's on a very consistent schedule. It's still super exhausting! Tonight it was raining, so my husband played a lot of fetch and tug with him in the house. By 8:30, after a few half-hearted puppy zoomies around the kitchen, Magnus came over to snuggle on my lap and fell asleep.

    And- pictures!

You bring up a great point about reasons to really work on puppy basics early-on. No one would want to step up and puppy sit a monster, or one who would mess in the house.

Who is luckiest here? You, to have this adorable puppy next door? Or your neighbours to have YOU next to them? Your neighbours for sure.

    Magnus is a cutie-pie.

What a cutie. It's so easy to forget how much work these little balls of fur and teeth can be.

awww Magnus is such a cute little guy! It was so nice they finally asked you to watch their baby boy for them, and agree they are lucky to have you both living next door.

Have fun with him and enjoy his puppy antics as they like you already know grow up so fast. Seems like it was just yesterday Sarah was a puppy and now she is going on 12 yrs in June.

Puppy sitting over the weekend, just what you need to get you to start looking for yours!! Magnus is beautiful and all lab.

Love the look on his face in the first picture and that his people have done such a good job of raising him correctly.

Bet it will be hard to give him back when they return.
