Georgia was throwing up for a day.....

Sunday started out normal but she soon threw up her breakfast and then her lunch and later on we found another one outside in the backyard. We are assuming she ate something she shouldn't have like labs do.

We tried giving her pumpkin and yogurt but those didn't interest her. I think the poor girl was starving. We had some small chicken pieces that we baked up and gave it to her with some rice. She of course ate the chicken and left the rice. She was did not throw any of that up.

Today she threw up grass and bile but no chicken so she has been processing that. We went to the Vets this morning and bought some gastro friendly soft food and have been giving her small meals of chicken and dog food which seems to be holding in. She is a lot more peppier and wagging her tail more.

I know she hadn't really eaten but I can't find any bowel movements in the backyard which concerns me. My daughter came home from work and said the house smells like farts.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Well one thing at a time maybe there was no food to make poop. I hope she continues to hold her food down and starts feeling a lot better

We usually stop feeding for a full 24 hours to settle the stomach down then proceed with the bland diet. Cerenia is a good drug for nausea if it persists.

Oh boy, I know this scenario all too well. Good luck. I have to go outside with Samson every single time. Asher is following in his footsteps. Just when I think I have the backyard locked down, he finds something else to eat. It's such a stressful process to wait it out with them. Good thoughts!

Happened to Hemi yesterday, however I know what he ate. Stink bug.

Normally he tells me, dad, bug here, dad, bug here get it. I seen his antics the stink bug was on his bed. So I was like ok, ok, hold on, I went to grab toilet paper to get the bug, I usually flush them. I came right back, Hemi was chewing something, something he didn't like and the stink bug was gone. So I am pretty sure I know where the bug went. I put him outside and watched. Half hour later he was vomiting like no tomorrow. 6 or 7 piles. The last 3 nothing but bile. Something as simple as a tiny stink bug, can cause so much trouble with digestion. He was quite miserable for some time. I called the vet and they said it does resolve itself in a few hours. They see it quite often. He was after me a few hours later for his supper though. I went ahead and gave it to him, he did keep it down. But hard telling what they get into sometimes.

Hope Georgia is feeling better today!!

Must have been the day for tummy upset. Cooper and Dozer were outside playing yesterday and Dozer all of a sudden vomited three times....partially digested food and water. He must have gotten into something in the yard, despite me being right there watching him. He ate supper like usual and breakfast today with no issues.

that could have been just too much activity, too close to eating or drinking

Hope Georgia is feeling better by now. It's good that she was holding down some food.

Her bowels probably won't seem back to normal for a day or two.

Thanks. She had two movements today that were typical and she was excited to go for a walk. The last two days she barely got off the floor. Whatever she has eaten has passed but we are still going to finish off the chicken and soft food for another day.

If anybody else is reading. If she would have persisted to throwing up we would have taken her in for professional care. With her stomach problems in the past we felt comfortable trying a bland diet and rest as a first alternative.
    Thanks Everyone!!

    Good to hear
    Georgia
is better now. You know her best, so the waiting and bland food is a reasonable course of action.
