It's been so hard on poor Honey with all the fireworks going off all week. She's one dog that hates those loud noises. Miia and Paige are awesome, it doesn't bother them a bit. But I always wonder what Honey had been through before we were lucky enough to adopt her.

It was July 1st for us, and even though rather quiet, I guess due to the extreme heat, there are dogs and cats missing all over. Thought frightened off by a sudden burst of fireworks. I wonder if somewhere there are stats to show wild animal collisions are up at these times? Or even car accidents? Imagine driving along a road you don't know well and all of a sudden BOOM close to you?

It was bad here this year too. I was extra careful taking Katie out after dark but dang 4-5 nights in a row is enough! One evening, the 6th or so, had Katie out for her last "go" and poor girl was mid squat when a big boom went off. She is not the skittish type but that got to her.

Glad here too. This year my neighbor two houses away set off mortar shells on the 3rd and 4th nights. Gabe was terrified and crawled between mu legs for comfort. Now when it is evening, he does not want to go outside for walks and holds his head down when we go by the neighbors house. I think he equates the smell with the noise.
Gigi grows up with 2 kids. Hell i have seen her sleep through noises when kids knock stuff over that will raise a dead person.
