Exclamation Riley ate a whole chicken carcass!

I hadn't thrown the carcass away just yet and he got on the counter and ate the whole thing (no drumsticks)! Not a piece left. It was my own fault of course but what should I look for? He a big 85 pound guy. Thank you in advance!

Most likely the dog will be fine, but be ready: https://www.akc.org/expert-advice/he...-chicken-bone/

Cooked or raw? If raw, no worries. He may get diarrhea if he is not used to raw meat.

So far so good. He's eating and being his normal self. Maybe a bit more tired but that was a filling meal!

Raw would have been better than cooked, but as long as Riley chewed it good, he should be fine.

We're RAW feeders and our girls almost daily fine cooked chicken bones during our walks and I just stand there and tell them to "chew it good", rather than go after it and have them quickly swallow and/or choke on it/them. It's pork bones I hate and try to retrieve them.. not always with any luck.

Oh dear! You may want to check with your Vet, I hope he's okay.

Cooked bones are more likely to splinter but we fed my childhood dog table scraps which included all the cooked bones and he never had one single problem. For nearly 17 years. Still, keep an eye on output, timing, appearance, effort.

Keep thinking about Riley. How is he is doing? My boys eat everything so I always worry about things like this.
