    Halfway to Puppy-time

The puppies are four weeks old! They are wrestling, "killing" toys and blankets, and playing outside now. While they sleep in the potty-boxes more than they actually potty in them, they are getting better and better at pottying in the right spot every day! They hang out in the kitchen now and mom still chooses to be with them most of the time. They have gone on a field trip in the car to another breeder's place where they all hung out in a new pen in a new home with new people for the day. They have lots of visitors - men, women and a toddler even - including older dogs other than mom. They get new toys every day and lots of fun jungle gym equipment to play on.

I do have a favorite, but must keep an open mind as they are changing daily. They still have hearts and eyes testing to do and then their official evaluations. Plus, they won't really start doing daily testing and evaluations until about five weeks of age when they'll start being challenged more and more.

Since I don't know the sex of my new puppy, but I can't not start buying stuff, I've gone pretty gender neutral in the colors. I bought the cutest collar on Etsy, a bed for the travel crate, Kongs and toys. On Amazon Prime Day, I got a Snuggle Puppy for $17. The Yellow Lab one was $40 so I bought the hot pink one to save money. My friend let me borrow her carrier for the plane, which is also hot pink. So, it'll probably be a boy!

The puppy will have three stations in my house. The kitchen station which will be a crate and an ex-pen area with a top (for when I'm not home), a crate in my bedroom by the bed for night time, and a little pen in the living room next to the dog beds for when it's time to chill out and relax or when I can't watch the pup.

I managed to get about three weeks off of work after puppy comes, but I'll be working some off and on from home and in the second week I'll go into the office for a meeting here and there to acclimate the puppy to being alone. I was so sick last winter after my two-week vacation, so I ended up not having a ton of time to spare, but this works out OK, too.

I'm super excited!!! This litter is going to be so awesome. Really a dream breeding for me.

    Danny likes pink!

Your enthusiasm is catching...make sure your camera is working or you'll have disappointed Lab Board people.

You are better prepared then when i got my first child btw... Me and My wife forgot the leash and crate and on the way stopped at a pet store to get a leash. Ofcourse we got so late we grabbed a room at a hotel where the puppy slept under our bed for some reason all night. She did bathroom outside. If i remember she other than one time of stomach upset never went to poop at home. Some pee incidents maybe total 5 maybe.

    Have fun it flys.

I know, it does fly by. I'm planning on enjoying every moment, even the not so enjoyable ones.
