The puppies are FIVE weeks old!

The puppies have moved into the kitchen (at four weeks) and are in the middle of daily life with humans and other (appropriate) adult dogs. They get new toys daily, including toys that move and sing. A few times a week, they have play dates with a rambunctious Golden litter that were born one day earlier. They had their first pond swim. They have a lot of visitors, including children and toddlers. Mom still chooses to hang out with the puppies most of the time and even nurses the Golden litter (a saint!). Their play pen area changes daily, whether they move the equipment around or change it out. Today they have a wobble board to play on. Pottying in the potty boxes is going really well. They like to "kill" their toys and wrestle. Starting at five weeks, they really start taking note of their personalities. The breeder tells me that so far she is seeing they are a very nice, even litter. Just over two more weeks until I know which one is mine and then a few days later, I will fly out to pick up him or her!

Sounds like they are doing the Puppy Culture program.

My litter is 7 weeks old, and they are the boldest puppies I have ever had. My puppies are usually pretty full of themselves, I had been doing most of the Puppy Culture activities already, but it's nice to have it on a schedule with reasons why to do what this week... etc...

    Exciting times!

    OMG I'm SO EXCITED!

I also forgot to mention, they are becoming more and more people-focused and their little tails wagging just makes my day! Now that the breeder is back to work part-time, her friends pop by daily to check on and cuddle the puppies and it's so much fun to see how much they love it.

They do Avidog. In fact, the owners of Avidog are co-raising this litter. They are all close friends and neighbors. So, the puppies (the Avidog owner owns the Golden litter they have playdates with) go to each other's property, play in each other's pens, share socialization experiences, etc. I guess it takes a village!

Great that you're following a program. Most of my friends won't touch a breeder who doesn't do one or the other and will fly wherever for a breeder that does. I'm flying from OR to NY. My friend is flying from OR to MI for her puppy because of that. Then there are other people who want the litter close-by and will sacrifice one of the programs for that. Personally, if the puppies were close-by I'd be over there as often as the breeder would let me, but I know I wouldn't make a huge dent in that puppy's upbringing by visiting once or twice a week for a month.

I know...I'm not sure I should post it. If you go to the breeder's Facebook site and like it, she shares all videos, photos and Nestcam links there. You can PM me for the breeder name. I don't think I can say it.

I love the days after their eyes open and they start to recognize my voice and me, and the tails start wagging!

I have been doing ENS and Rules of 7's since I started, and always lots of extras, like the vacuum, dropping pans, bumble balls, something new at least once a day, even fireworks, they were in their pen with their dam (who is used to gunfire etc....) etc.... They keep me busy, I am exhausted. The new workbook for Puppy Culture makes it easy to schedule fun things next. My repro vet always laughs when I bring in a litter for well puppy health exams, the take over her special breeding/puppy room and play.

Yeah, it's a ton of work! I'm exhausted just watching on puppy-cam.

I don't know the difference between the two programs. As far as I can tell, the program is like Puppy Culture on steroids! The higher level competition breeders seem to be adopting Avidog over Puppy Culture. They are both great, I think.

Apparently Suzanne Clothier has a puppy program that she has been developing for quite some time and just went public with it. It's very different!
