    Obedience I Graduate

    Mr Smartypants!

It's been really interesting working through Obedience I with a 5 month old, and the trainer has been having a lot of fun with him. He's super smart but he has that puppy attention span. We're going to take a couple of months off from the structured classes and work on all the skills from Obedience I at home, then we'll move on to Obedience II.

    We learned:
    • Loose leash walking
    • release words
    • Sit
    • Name game (look at me when I say his name)
    • Sustained down from sit or stand until release
    • touch
    • preventing jumping on people
    • trade
    • holding a sit/stay
    • Place (or 'go to bed' as we use in our house).
    • 'zen' (taking treat calmly and nicely)
    • turning on leash and switching sides
    • up (putting paws up on a step)
    • Back up

Congratulations! That's a nice list to have under your belt at this stage. (look at him, so proud of himself...and knowingly signaling that he expects a reward)

Awesome. I had so much fun with Asher. We went through 3 classes over a year. He does such a great job. I know you are having fun with your little guy. They grow so quick.

Too quick! He’s a handful but I’m hoping to get his CGC soon. I’m not worried at all about his ability to learn commands, it’s the focus that we have to work on. And I try at every opportunity.

Good going, that's impressive for such a young puppy.

Congratulations! He looks proud of his achievement. I have to agree they grow too fast.
