      Black Oban, Meet Yellow Oban

WE finally managed a walk with the other Oban we met a while ago. It went well. They are about the same age and didn't become instant best friends but got along well. My Oban is named for the town in Scotland, her Oban is named for the very good scotch single malt whiskey made in that town, courtesy of her Dad. We are going to try to arrange some regular outings. Yellow Oban hurt his back, he's 11.5 years old, but his Vet says to keep moving. Since they didn't do any wild play together it's good for him and my Oban with his wonky elbow, just gentle moving forward to keep limber for both of them. And, it was the best day of the summer so far, not stinkin' hot, no excessive humidity, the rainy clouds gave way to high pressure and sun. It was beautiful out.

Awww, glad your Oban found a friend his age to walk with! I miss the old days when Cookie and I used to walk with a bunch of other dogs and owners. Nowadays I'm afraid of the younger dogs hurting him, so we mostly walk solo.

It sounds like they're a really good match...how nice to have friends you can hang with and not have to fear warding off rough play.

(I'm always happy when we meet one of Sunnie's mellow friends and I don't have to stand watch over lifted puppy paws or jumping around. So is she.)

Rough play is how Yellow Oban's back was hurt. His one year old, 80 pound foster brother jumped on him.
