    CGCA and CGCU

My trainer suggested I get Molly tested for both. She did say the CGC urban is the harder test. Im just wondering is there any reason to do it. I feel like Molly performed these tasks on a daily basis. maybe there are 1 or 2 things she does not do daily. Part of me feels like its my trainer trying to boost my spirits and have something to work towards.

I think we have only the one, the CGN. N stands for neighbour. I think it would be great if every owner at least trained for and tried to get these. I can't figure out what your A means? Anyway, if you are still working with people and their service dogs it would be a nice example to set. Plus, like any class, you meet neat people and have fun.

Yes I am still training other service dogs. I think the A stands for advanced. I know the U stands for urban.

It depends ... if you are someone who does better with a goal, then go for it. If there is any reason it would benefit you (reduced rates at a kennel, pet friendly hotel etc) go for it. Otherwise, I’m not really sure what the point is other than a tangible sense of accomplishment, but I’m not sure from your post that that is an issue for you.

My dogs could easily pass those tests but I don’t bother because my goals are Obedience titles, the behaviors for which encompass the CGC type stuff so to me there is no point. There’s really no point to the Obedience titles either, other than I enjoy the competition! What’s most important is the dogs’s training, and the relationship you have with the dog, not whatever titles you put on it.

You could do the Trick Dog! With the CGC you only have to do 10 tricks, most she probably knows how to do already. I like having my dogs earn different titles and certificates.
