    SO much laundry!

    Towels, I mean towels.

Henry doesn't whimper or give much notice if he has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. He might pant briefly before letting loose but that doesn't always wake me up in time. So, between accidents in the crate, towels to dry them both off after being outside in the rain the past few days, and Henry splashing the water out of the water bowl and then wanting to zoom around on the wet floor, I've got towels, towels, towels every place. For all the wiping I'm doing, you'd think the floor would look cleaner! Maybe it will kill my 15+ year old washing machine and I'll have a legit excuse to get a new one aside from just wanting one.

    Ahh, puppyhood!

Hah. Your subject line gave me a flashback to keeping Sunnie's puppies' areas clean. The front loader was a god send...I don't remember how many loads of wash I did every day but I was up waaaaayyyyyy past my bedtime. (little monsters would eat shredded newspaper...which proved to not be as absorbent as it used to be...so they had piddle pads and fabric covers)

Enjoy...this will too soon be but a memory for you.

For the first puppy in a long time, I had a few night's trouble crate training with Monday. I finally set the alarm for every three hours, took her potty, praised when she went, and put her back to bed. It took a couple nights and she has been good and dry for 8-9 hours since. Henry just doesn't know what is expected of him yet, but he will figure it out soon. :-)

I hope your washer dies! (So you can get a new one LOL) My laundry when I have a litter is insane for a couple weeks, until they get the potty box.

Yeah, I set my alarm last night for 1 am and 4 am. Oh. My. Gosh. It's hard to get up when you've been sleeping soundly and it's raining outside. We do what we've gotta do, I guess. I'm sure he'll figure it out soon.

Hah...better hope he doesn't figure out that it's better to stay dry and just stay (and go) indoors on days like this. He is smart.

We were lucky. Oban needed out twice a night at first too, in -30C winter nights. But he'd rustle around and we'd hear him. The worst accident was the first night when we decided to ignore him, as common wisdom often suggests. Nope, he really did need out, peed his bedding and shrieked. Poor little guy, lying in wet bedding. No more closed door crates for us.

Presto got me up the first night at 3:30am (still on east coast time, I guess) and maybe he got me up once at 5am, if I remember correctly. Otherwise, he sleeps all night, sometimes as late as 7:45am! No crate accidents - knock on wood - but we have a towel problem, too. So I can relate. Mostly it has to do with him getting into the shower with me to lick my toes and hang out. Little weirdo.
