So very very sorry for the loss of Bob but he had some great friends! Knowing that his prized dog would be taken care of I'm sure proved to be very comforting. At least Tuffy is with someone he knows and loves him.

Sorry about the loss of your friend. I’m sure knowing he didn’t have to worry about Tuffy in addition to his declining health eased his mind. Bob and Tuffy had a great friend in you.

I am sorry for the loss of your friend Bob. As others have said I am sure that knowing you would take Tuffy was a burden he never had to feel. Thank you for taking in Tuffy.

What a sad and yet heart warming story.
Condolences with the loss of your friend Bob.
Kudos to you and your family for taking and loving Tuffy, he is a lucky boy! Hugs!

On a side note, our Dana's sire was named Tuffy and he lived to be 19 years old. I hope the same for your Tuffy.

It is looking like Tuffy is even older than I figured--I was thinking probably 12 yrs old or so.....DH stopped in at the vet that Bob had been taking Tufffy to so he could pick up a couple month's worth of Tuffy's arthritis meds. I asked him to get a copy of Tuffy's most recent vaccinations, etc, & on the paper it shows (Weight 55.8 lbs - 15 y). So if that means what I think it means, Tuffy could be 15. He seems in really good shape if he is that old--he loves to go out--in fact we are having to try & train him not to do the door-darting thing when we try to take him out on his leash. He gets over-excited when we try to take him out & he rears & jumps up at the door & tries to charge out when we open it, but we're working with him & he seems to be catching on that we block him with our leg until he stands there calmly for a second or 2. I think he is hard of hearing, but his eyes seem fine, as he will take out after a rabbit before I even know one is around. He does stop when he gets to the end of the leash though. He isn't very excited about mealtimes--I hope to switch him to a better quality food, but so far he doesn't seem too excited about eating. I may be trying to feed him too much--Bob used to let him free feed, but we can't do that here. I was also used to how much Molly used to eat, but she was a bigger dog by about 20 lbs. We've had him 10 days now, & he seems to be getting used to everything around here--so far is very good with Heidi & Katie Cat......
