Dirty, Rotten, Stinkin' Dog - He's BAA ACK

Mr. dirty, rotten, stinkin' dog is back. What is his sin this time? Taking advantage of my stupidity. He ate the pizza dough I had in a covered bowl sitting on the floor heat vent to rise. I was watching but obviously not closely enough. Raw dough with yeast can cause bloat. !!!!! It was pretty well ready to use but I called the Vet and she said to give him two TBSP of pumpkin (he's 67 pounds) and that would help it on it's way out, maybe even give him some diarrhoea. She said she didn't think I needed to induce vomitting. I just today bought canned pumpkin, no spices, to make a pie for our Thanksgiving on Sunday. I guess I can still make the pie. In the meantime here I sit, waiting to welcome diarrhoea. And yes, you can be sure I will be thankful to see it.

He just barfed it up. Looks like most of it. Yay. Poor little boy, he wasn't feeling very good for a while there. Thought I'd be sleeping on the kitchen floor on diarrhoea watch tonight but all seems ok.

    Oh that's a bummer! Hope he's okay!

I have a very bad feeling that my Diggity is going to be a counter and table surfer. He is already showing signs. I already have to push things to the center of the table or way back from the edge of the counter. He does seem to listen when I tell him Off! and push his paws to the ground, but he still keeps doing it. Sigh. I got off so easy with my previous dog Sprocket. She never even attempted those sorts of things.

We do spend a lot of time watching either one end or the other...or both if we're really unfortunate.

    Glad he'll be OK.

I predict you'll remember this every time you make pumpkin pie.

Oban does not counter surf, this was on the floor. He did for a short bit and I tried this and it worked. Worth a try for Diggity?

Yes and the pizza recipe too. It was going to be homemade garlic scape pesto pizza with smoked salmon, black olives and feta cheese. I'd bought a nice white wine to go with it. Tomorrow night, I guess.

It was SO STUPID of me, we have gates on the kitchen. I should have locked Oban out of the kitchen when I put the dough down on the floor. Dumb, dumb, dumb.

Oban, Oban. You need to wait until the pizza is cooked, and preferably to wait until you are offered a small bit.

Glad to learn he is OK. How does he feel this morning?

Thanks for the vinegar tip, think I will try it on our counter surfer!
