We were sitting outside in our backyard, enjoying the sunset and crisp autumn air. The conversation turned to our dog Molly (as it often does) and my 13-year-old said with a huge smile on his face, "I'm always going to have labs in my life."
I seriously began to feel tears in my eyes. It amazes me the love and passion he has for these dogs. We didn't really know what we were getting into when we got Molly, but we've become a lab family and it makes me so happy that he wants to carry that on.

We've had 3 breeds over the years, boxers, bull mastiffs, and now labs. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right breed for you. Not that we didn't love our other dogs but it's too bad it took us so long to find labs!
My only regret in life is not finding a lab until late in life. Now I want to stuff my house with them, LOL.

That's so sweet!! I remember when we got our first lab, Chipper, many years ago. My then 6 year old son told me that he was going to take Chipper to college with him. I gently told him that labs don't really tend to live that long, which saddened him. Well, Chipper lived long enough to see my son go off to college! The old boy lived to be 14.5 years old!! They were inseparable.
