According to Presto's mommy, the dog star of this commercial, they work well on dog hair!

Funny I should just see this now. There just was a commercial for it on TV and I'm thinking that it would go 6 inches during spring or fall shed and be filled, LOL. That's my concern, it's receptacle looks pretty small. That and, yes, they are very pricy.

Presto's mommy is a TV star? WOW. I notice the ad shows it only on hard surface flloors. What about carpet, rug? OUr braided rug really holds on to hair.

I have a friend who loves hers, and she has multiple dogs (2 Border Collies, a Pittie, and a Doberman). There are different models though and she got one with a larger capacity container - not sure what model it is, but she did say to go for the larger one. She empties it once a day but says it works pretty well. I don’t think she has any wall-to-wall, but she does have tile, wood, and area rugs.

I would like one, but haven’t been ready to pull the trigger due to $$. It would really only work in my kitchen/hall/family room and dining room because our house is a partial split and the living room is up a couple steps, bedrooms are on the second floor. Even so, the kitchen/family room/front hall is where most of the hair accumulates so still considering.

I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on one. I'm not sure if anyone else is wirecutter fans, it's a company that is linked to the new york times and they basically just do very thorough research and product testing and make recommendations. My family is OBSESSED with wirecutter and I can attest to the fact that I have never been disappointed when following their recommendation. Anyway, here are their two articles on the subject and their recommendations:

Pets Shed Constantly—Robot Vacuums Keep Up: Reviews by Wirecutter | A New York Times Company
What’s the Best Vacuum for Pet Hair?: Reviews by Wirecutter | A New York Times Company

I think that there are pros and cons, and they're definitely not perfect, but they can relieve some of that "I should be vacuuming every day" feeling.

Yeah! She's been in several commercials and catalogs. She was also in this music video. The breeder's puppy is also in the video (not Presto's sibling, more like a cousin). The breeder, for awhile, was really into it. Pedigree and Blue Buffalo commercials, puppy bowl, Pendleton catalogs, television pilots, etc., but the excitement wore off so she stopped with the exception of a few really good ones now and then.

Probably Not what I was supposed to notice most in that video, but boy, did they ever get a good match on the young man and the older man.

Macy loves to fight the vacuum. I can't imagine her with a Roomba.

My sister has one and it works well but she has to confine one of her dogs while it is working. Huggie likes to follow it and turn it off.
