    PLease Shut the Gates

You know we have a dog. The gates are there to keep him safe in the backyard. I don't care how short you expect your visit to be, the gates were closed when you entered our backyard, it's not up to you to decide they can now be left open. Both of them. !!!!

Yeah, we get that, too. We have an electric fence that runs under the split rail fence but Henry isn't trained to that yet (and doesn't recognize that he shouldn't go past any fence if a friend is on the other side), but the lawn guys don't know there's an electric fence, so CLOSE THE GATES, they're not just for show!

I had that happen once. I called the electric company and filed a complaint! Carelessness!

Ugh! Our lawn guys are good 99% of the time, but it has happened ... VERY annoying as I can’t see the gates from the back door so don’t realize it when they go out. Fortunately ours have never been runners. The worst they’ve done is wander around to the front door.

I got a mental image of them coming around and saying, "Trick or Treat!" Too close to Halloween!

Ours is tricky to open. Solid 6 foot gate, crazy way you have to reach "over" to get the latch open. Plus, we keep a large chunk of cement against the inside of the gate which makes opening it from the outside almost impossible. I'm going to know if it's opened.
