    That Was a Scary Poop

Oban couldn't wait till I let him off the leash so I stood and watched, and, OMG, there was bright red. A big lump of bright red; as red as a tomato. Oh, wait. It is a tomato, two in fact. Those two grape tomatoes must have had very tough skins. He's eaten them before, often, and I never saw them reappear whole like this before.

That would have definitely freaked me out. How in the world did they remain intact?

I put some that were going wrinkly into some veggie broth I was making last night. I brought it to a boil then simmered for several hours, again today, and those grape tomatoes stayed whole till I squashed them. They do have thicker skins than the eating tomatoes and romas I grew this summer but I had no idea they were this tough.

Well, if there was ever any question about whether Oban chews his food or not, I'd say you have your answer!

Okay, you scared me! I'm glad it was just tomatoes!

That's why I always cook the veggies, I used to give Cookie raw carrots and they would come out as carrots, there's no use of them if he can't digest them.

When I fed raw I blended the veggies and never saw them again. I guess Oban does usually bite stuff at least once because he's been getting the last of the grape tomatoes at bedtime with a bit of food and his kefir and this is the first time I've seen them reappear.
