Look at your local breed club website. Be prepared to get on a list. Unless you get lucky, which happens sometimes, puppies on the ground are spoken for when it comes to good breeders. Sometimes there are way more puppies than planned, sometimes people back out, sometimes people's references don't pan out, etc.

I found a six month old female. Not to ar from my house, the breeder has her at his house. Says she comes from a good blood line. Anything I need to be aware of?

Are the breeders members of the clubs listed above?
If you want to send me the name of the breeder and pedigree, I would be willing to give it a look. But you will need to get your post count up to at least 5 I think before you can use the PM function.

great advice above, would absolutely take JenC up on her offer.
Good bloodlines means little to nothing. I don't care if great grand dad had a CH. I care if mom and dad were and more crucially, do mom and dad have ALL recommended health clearances (hips, elbows, eyes, heart, eic, cmn) because you may just want a pet, but you want a HEALTHY pet.

Papers show elbows hips and eyes heart for sir only. I liked the dog not the breeder.
There was a DNA number for the sire
Sorry, the Dam and the Sir had all. The Sir had DNA
