      Gotcha!

Friday the 30th is Lucy’s first Gotcha! anniversary.

She first came to us in April 2016, just after we (including Achilles and Stella) returned from a lengthy road trip. We were asked to, and we agreed, to foster her for a local rescue.

She stayed with us until just before Fayes’ birthday in August of that year when she was selected and adopted. It was a close call - Faye had said ‘If she is still here on my birthday we are keeping her.’

Fast forward to November 2017. Faye texted me that she saw a dog on the rescues’ web site that looked a lot like Lucy but had a different name. I looked at her and said first to myself then to her ‘That’s Lucy all right.’

Then I said to myself ‘I know where this is going.’

Her adopter’s situation had changed and it wasn’t working out so Lucy came back to the rescue.

So here she is, home for good.

      A few photos.

One of the first photos after we began fostering her. Quite a smile although there's something on her tongue.

      Romping with Achilles.

      Those ears.

      A very distinctive profile.

After she came home for good.

      Double decker dogs.

Peas in a pod, sort of.

      She's all about the ball.

      Look! There's a ball!

I had no idea a dog could do that.

These shot with the new camera.
      Portrait.

      All business.

      Three quarter profile.

Lucy, we are so glad life brought you back to us.
Andrew, Faye, Achilles, Fitzi, and Lucy

Not gone, only gone on ahead - Bruno, Rex, BoJo, Kendal, Kingsley, Moonpie, Avis, Corndog, and Stella

Happy Gotcha day Lucy! You are such a beautiful pup! You remind me of our neighbor's dog who is one of Thor's best playmates. She even can do that impossible pose when finding a particularly stinky pile of horse poop to roll in (her family has horses).

I'm sure Lucy was as happy to be back with you as you were to reclaim her! It was fortuitous that Faye happened to look at the rescue site before anyone else claimed her.

Oh, wait....that's a sofa with both the back and the seat occupied. The blanket made it look like the top deck had an overhang.

      Duh!

Sometimes it just takes a while for your journey home. Happy Gotcha Day Lucy!

FWIW - I'd frame that last pic!
