    Luna is humping

What should I do? She got a stuffy that is about half her size, and she really likes it.... A little too much. I read it is natural, but will it stop? Im thinking about just putting the stuffy away until she is bigger. TIA

Let her have her stuffy. All of my puppies who humped pillows or stuffies grew out of it without me taking anything away from them. If she starts humping people, that you want to work with (none of mine ever did).

And the only dog I had who humped other dogs was my girl Honey...and only her "brother" Hershey...and only his head...and only when he was sleeping. Hershey didn't care so I didn't, either. She didn't hump anything as a puppy.

Many of us had dogs doing the Monkey Mambo at the same time...a long Sherpa-like monkey being the partner of choice.

I agree with Sundance. She will grow out of it.

Me too, let her have it. In fact, I bought Oban a stuffie for that express reason when he started on laundry lying on the floor when he was 9 weeks old. Oban is now 11 years old, still gives Poppa Bear a good workout, especially after supper and nice walks. AND Oban is an intact male and he has never, ever, humped anything else. Poppa has had rhinoplasty and extensive abdominal surgery, can be washed, and hidden when company comes.

ETA: We actively encouraged this. "Get Poppa." Think it helped direct the action to an appropriate partner. LOL

Asher humped his toys too. Tried to hump Samson but Samson had NO part of it. He would try out my leg or arm and I'd give him the firm "Leave it". He grew out of it.

I bought an expensive dog bed when Macy was a puppy that she has never, ever slept on. However, she humps it almost every day. She hasn't grown out of it yet- she's 7. She has never humped anything else. I used to put it away when company came over but now I don't.

I don't let my dogs hump. But it's a personal thing. I know lots of dogs that never outgrew it, mostly females. I mean, I don't freak out, but I redirect.

Thank you guys for the feedback, is good to know we are not alone. She has not done it at all today, so Im hoping if she doesn't grow out of it, it will happen very seldom. My friends male Weiner dog goes crazy all day on this one stuffy all the time, one time, some stuffing got caught up in his you know what, and it got inflamed, and it had to go to vet to get it out.... what a nightmare. Again, thank you guys!
