      Stormy's dream comes true

As you may recall, our next door neighbors are involved in rescue and have three senior rescued labs. They are currently fostering an adult female pitbull named Claire. Stormy has met the dogs through the fence; the labs (who are 12+ years old) have shown little interest but Claire and Stormy have been mooning over each other: touching noses through the fence, wagging/playbowing at each other. The neighbors wanted to get a better sense of Claire and for Stormy to get a bit bigger before having them meet in person (in canine? lol), which we totally supported.

And yesterday was the day! We brought Stormy into their yard and she and Claire had so much fun! Claire’s a wrestler, so it’s good that we waited for Stormy to have a bit more bulk. Stormy also loved chasing the labs as they chased tennis balls. She got corrected by one of the labs hard enough that she ran to us, but we confirmed no cuts or blood and she was soon playing with Claire again. And maybe she learned a lesson about jumping in old dog’s faces. She was much more respectful about Sophie’s space, that’s for sure.
And best of all, she took a nice, long nap afterwards.

It was very spur of the moment! We just happened to be outside at the same time. Otherwise, there would've definitely been photographic proof. As penance, here's a photo post-play.

LOL i loved play dates for baby Bailey. we pretty much had to beg people to let him come over and play to get woren out That is so nice that little Stormy is able to help with Claire too, so her foster parents have a better idea on what kind of forever home she would do best with. That and i am sure their older labs were grateful for the younger ones play dates as i am sure Claire had a little nap after play too
