    Benelli needs mojo

Monday I took Benelli in for is annual check up and he just needed rabies so I had that done. Dr said he was perfectly healthy. Tuesday he was kinda punky just kinda laying around and I played it off from the vaccine. Wed morning he didn't eat his food right away but enntually at same with wed night. Thursday he didn't touch breakfast or dinner and I knew something was wrong.

Friday at 3am he vomited brown liquid am. I took his temp and it was normal I don't know what made me check his gums but they looked a tad pale to me.

I brought him to work with me and we did bloods his PCV was 13 and is liver values didn't even read.

We rushed him to the ER vet and they wanted to do a transfusion so he got that done they called and said that his PCV dropped again and he needed a second transfusion so we did that too. He came home Sat afternoon and is doing a tad better but he's still jaundice on many meds.

We redid bw today and his PCV dropped a bit. He's more perky ate 4 small meals of AD and running around with his ball.

He still has a long road ahead. Friday I thought we were putting him down but he's fighting.

Gosh, what do they think is causing this, that's such a low PCV? And by liver values not reading do you mean because they were so high or so low? I hope he's doing better.

Smartrock I'm thinking it was a reaction to the rabies that brought all this on. His liver values we're so high they didn't even read. They are still high but lower than before.

They are saying IMHA or possible Evans syndrom. They couldn't find a tumor or internal bleed anywhere. Both of these can be triggered by the rabies vaccine.
