Here is is the day after his transfusion I wanted him home and he was stable enough to come home they said they are usually hospitalized for 7 to 10 days until thier levels are good but he has crate anxiety and I thought it would best for him.

Update his platelets are up from 17 to 35 but his PCV dropped from 17 to 15 so we admitted him and he's getting another transfusion.

    Oh my goodness! Poor baby...

Do they think this was a result of the Rabies vaccine? Has he ever had one before?

They can't say for sure but they said given the time yes. And had a rabies when I adopted him but I havent given him one.

We didn't do the transfusion his blood was reacting with all the donor blood. So he's home on strict crate rest his PCV was 17 there. He's stable. He ate some ground burger last night about 1 cup. We have an appt with the internal medicine Dr in hopes he just needs different meds.

If his levels drop to critical it would either be risk doing the transfusion and hope he doesn't have a reaction to the blood or put him down in which case I prob would let him go while he's still somewhat healthy and happy rather than extremely critical.
