I had to go back to reread this because I am so lucky that Timber is still with us. Over a year ago, we decided not to do the surgery. The surgeon was very hesitant to do it. He would have wanted him to go under again for a ct scan. Even then he thought it may be risky and didn't want to lose him "on the table." (his words)
I felt it was meant to be and we made the decision to just let him enjoy his life. Well almost a year and three months later - he is still here! With a much bigger butt!
Everyday is a gift -especially with what's going on in this world.

Apparently, I wrote the above and never posted it!
Now it's February 2022- and he is still here! It is a miracle! He has miralax with every meal- and still poops! He is slowing down now alot- but I wanted to update. We also have a new member of the family-added him to the family at 8 weeks old in October.
He is now almost 6 months. He is a darker yellow lab- named him Bowden and call him Bo or Bodie for short. I will try to add a pic soon!
So happy to hear things are going well. Congrats on the new addition.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
