Then I saw some reviews stating vomiting/diarrhea. I figured that these would fall into the category of "well, what did you expect?" if I bought them for my guys. Despite the price, the salmon really intrigued me. Sorry, pups, not happening.

But I'm looking at the Nature Gnaws...hadn't seen those before. Oh, yum....tripe. I gave Sunnie and the puppies tripe way back when...think I'm going to check these out. Still looking at all of the varieties now...but Amazon will need to say "thank you" to you for catching my attention. (Tripe: good thing the dogs have dedicated washable mats to chew things on...that's some nasty smelling stuff....figure the chews won't be any different than the canned variety.)
The earth animal chews didn’t work for my boy either. He swallowed pieces whole and they came out in his runny poop later, still whole. He also threw up undigested chunks several hours after eating one. I decided they weren’t for him.

I wonder if these are any good:

Diggity occasionally likes a nylabone, but he’s really not that interested in them. I wonder if these Benebones taste better?

The trainers at our obedience class recommended those. They’re about the same hardness as hard nylabones. I got one that neither of mine paid much attention to but the one trainer’s large pit mix supposedly loves. Lark recently broke one of her front teeth, probably playing with Henry, and after some expensive dental surgery to remove the rest of that tooth, I ‘m trying to avoid really hard things for her to chew. Sadly, she’ll chew sticks also in the absence of something safer.

It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. Amber hasn't had any issues yet with the pork chomps and I think the package says made in Holland but I need to check out about the China thing. Nylabbone edibkes she loves but are messy and gone pretty quick. Not crazy about regular Nylabones.

I have used pork rolls before but my girls are not big fans.

    Pork chomps

I went out and bought a Benebone at my local pet store yesterday and Diggity loved it. I let him chew it for about an hour. According to the Benebone web site, the amount he chewed it (picture below) is close to when you should throw it away. Although they did say you can sand off the rough edges and it will last longer. I am letting him chew it again this morning, but am wondering if these are too short lived to be worth it.

Is there really that much missing? It looks barely chewed. As long as the unphotographed end isn't missing a chunk, I think it is far from "heavy wear".

According to the Benebone recommendation, this is moderate wear. I’m keeping an eye on it.

Do you also have sort of a time limit on chew time. I think Amber would chew for hours but I usually take her chew toy away after 20 or 30 minutes. Makes her drink water for sure!

Not yet, but I would probably redirect him after an hour.
