    Aye Mates,

NOSE PRINTS ON THE WINDOWPANE ~ We learn to tolerate them, yet we long for them once they are gone.

It's like that couple of strands of fur, hidden in a corner after they are gone. It would take me months to clean off nose prints after one had passed on.

A funny story. Only a few days before our grandson left, joining the Army, he was watching his siblings through the back door window. He pressed his nose against the window and left a print. Being so sentimental about doggy nose prints, and him being far away, I carefully washed around it. While he was gone we had new doors installed and I told this story to the installer. His son was in the military and far away from home too. He quickly said he would save the door for us. Silly? I did not keep the door but a part of my heart went out into his truck with that door.

I didn't wash the nose prints off the doors to my deck/back yard for almost a year after Bruce passed. Just couldn't bring myself to do it.
