    Another Benelli update

So last week before I left I had Benellis bloods done his PCV was 35!!! The plan was to drop his pred to.10 mg when I got back from vacation. He still wasn't eating great very picky and he would occasionally regurge it all up. While on vacation he was vomiting watery diah that shot out of him like a fire hose and then not eating so my MIL took him to the vet.

They ran full blood panel and his PCV is 37 yay it's now low normal !!! Nothing real concerning his liver is up a tad but hes on all these meds. They kept him 4 days did iv fluids and injectable cerenia and diarhol.

I picked him up yesterday and he's feeling much better. We decreased him to 10mg of pred and will recheck in two weeks if everything is good we will start a slow ween of the cyclosporine.

    UPDATE

Since we got back from vacation Benelli has been doing really well last week we decreased his cyclosporine since he really seemed to get sick on it. When he was at the vet they were giving him injectable pred but no other meds as he wasn't eating nor keeping anything down.

He came home and was doing better started his meds again last week he didn't really want to eat and he vomited so the vet decreased his cyclosporine to just once a day and that seemed to help. Eating drinking acting fine.

Brought him in Monday for his birthday weekly blood draw and was shocked that it was worse since he's been acting so much better.

His PCV dropped from 37 to 29
Red blood cells are down and his hemoglobin

We increased his pred again up to 20mg. I think the vet weened to fast it's common for vets to do but I should have listened to my gut and my reasearch.

Now we are following my protocol which is nothing will get weened until his bloodwork is normal for at least a month. Then we will start with the mycophenolate.

Only thing that's helping me not stress as much is he's eating and has some energy.
