LOL ... I have, but they were on human joint supplements (Move Free Plus) at the time (different dogs, different supplements now). I started trying it for my arthritis and it did help.
Zo had surgery for elbow dysplasia, both legs, when she was nine months old and has been seeing a holistic vet ever since. She has done extremely well and is now 10 1/2 years old.
I did something to my knee a few weeks ago. It's genetic. My mom has the same problems and I've gotten away with it for the most part until now. Hers started a lot earlier so I'm grateful. But this thing I did almost sent me to the ER. It wasn't like I suddenly couldn't walk on it. It was more like I spent too much time on the exercise machines and the next day, I was in a world of hurt. It was popping though so I knew fluid was being released. I would have given it an eight for pain though at some points. Did the ice, elevation, compression thing for a few days but it just wasn't enough. Finally, I found myself digging through Zo's supplements.
Popped a Glucosamine Synergy. Within hours, I had smooth movement again. Started taking it twice a day while still icing, etc. It was fantastic! Thought I had plenty but ran out yesterday. Of course during the weekend and it was started to really hurt again. Looked at her supplements again and popped a Boswelia Complex. Minutes! It was practically immediate! Crisis averted!
Then I reviewed Zo's schedule. She gets two Glucosamine Synergy, a Boswelia Complex, a Saligesic, 2-8 Ligaplex I and 4-5 Ligaplex II every day. Every single day. Of course she's fine! We've been drugging the living daylights out of her.

No. But the dogs get the same (human) fish oil that Bob uses and their crancaps/vitamin E are labeled for humans. All three of us use the Rescue Remedy labeled for either Kids or Pets (non-alcoholic/same product...I just buy the one that's cheapest at the time).

Oban's Holistic/Integrative Vet laughed when she discovered her own human Dad had just been prescribed the same herbal formula for prostate issues as she had for Oban. When Whisper died I gave all her leftover meds to my MIL, they were human variety and she took the same thing.

I don't but except for the Dasuquin or Cosequin, anything I give is intended for human use and we don't do any herbal/holistic kind of supplements. I still have some of Lark's Galliprant and a muscle relaxer from when she had the bad flare up of tendonitis but I haven't considered sampling those. I hadn't thought about shopping the dogs' pharmacy.

Almost all the supplements on my doggy feeding shelf are for me too. But I draw the line at actual "drugs"...
14 yo Mata is the only one who takes anything prescription in the house (it probably would make my back feel better in all honesty!).
