    Chest Protector suggestions

Hoping that someone might chime in, maybe the hunting/field type, with some suggestions/ recommendations for a "vest" that has a built in chest protector.

Long story short (for another time), Keene has a wound to her chest. We'll say a pressure sore type wound on the bottom of her girth, between her front legs.
Once it completely heals, the surgeon would like the area protected from any more injury.
My brief research only provides me with brush guard/ nylon type/ neoprene type vests, which might be sufficient.
But what I would like is something with a stiffer/hard "plate", almost like "body armour".
I've never had my hands on these items, so I could be mistaken and the basic options could offer enough protection.
I would like a couple options so I can show the surgeon and we can discuss the best option.
It may be something she has to wear 24/7, or at least initially. Also warmer weather is approaching, so that might be another consideration.

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Haven't used one myself, but I would check https://www.gundogsupply.com to see what the options are. I've ordered other things through them and had a good experience.

Just guessing from your description, it would really depend on what caused it. If a true pressure sore then I'm thinking you would want something padded, but if it's more of a scrape or puncture then probably either neoprene (although that might get hot) or stiffer. Not sure the brush guard ones would be enough, although it might depend on what they were made of. Not sure you'd want a stiff plate on a pressure would as it might just aggravate the pressure.

I looked at the Police K9 vest, which are bullet/stab proof, but cost about $1400.

Maybe you could use something like this: https://ruffwear.com/collections/coo...cts/jet-stream
It may be possible to find a tailor who could sew a pocked that you could put a hard plastic plate it which could be molded/formed to fit.

I use an Avery Vest on Cassie in the winter months but I think it would be too warm other times. How about something like this ...

I've ordered stuff from gundogsupply also and always been happy. I've called them with questions, too, and they were helpful. Maybe you could call and describe your situation and see if they recommend one vest over another.
