How to keep them from clanging

Amber is big enough now to have one of the collars our last lab wore. So we put on her rabies tag and her microchip tag. She likes to bite at them and I think the noise is also bothering her. Does anyone know of a way to fasten them so they don't make so much noise and maybe keep them up so she can't bite at them. I don't want her destroying the microchip one especially!

Here's one idea: Amazon.com : Quiet Spot Pet Tag Silencer (Black) : Pet Identification Tags : Pet Supplies

I don't keep the rabies tags or dangling ID tags on my dogs' collars because they always seem to get pulled off and lost. Yes, I'm supposed to keep rabies tags and the county license tag on their collars but never have and have not had an issue with that. I use boomerang tags for ID, you could get the microchip number engraved on one of those tags, some allow engraving front and back. Boomerang Tags

Sounds like that would be a great solution! Thanks!

The Quiet Spot is what I use....not so much for noise as to keep the dogs clean. Tag friction "dirt" was turning both dogs' necks gray after walks.

I don't keep tags on my dogs collars either. A cousin's shepherd almost died because her tags went down through a separation on the deck and turned so she couldn't get back up. Just luck my cousin checked on her or she would have choked.

Yeah...mine only wear collars when they're going out. I'm afraid of teeth getting caught in buckles, etc. (bitey face)
