Yeah...Aussie mix or perhaps Border Collie mix (those two breeds look so similar).

That looks like an Aussie mix to me.

Looks like an oversized Aussie to me. Australian Shepherd - can be nice dogs, but not necessarily easy for inexperienced owners - depends on the dog. Can be high energy and have some of the typical herding breed issues (trying to herd kids, etc). Do best with a job. Most of the ones I know are in performance homes, although neighbors do own one as a pet.

Does it have a tail? Some Aussies do have tails though. I think a mix too. Look into English Shepherds if you like the look but a warning, they can also be very high energy and some breeders will only let them go to a working home. Oban's cousin Bonnie is an ES and she's an easy keeper.

The Australian Shepherd with Salem and Rosie in this picture is Ozzy, my son's pup, he was 6 mos. old then.
And yes, Aussies are a handful and need tons of exercise, he never stops, they also need a lot of brain stimulation, if they aren't kept busy they can be very destructive, he is really good at playing what cup is the ball under? Yes, they are that sharp.
