    We have a runner!!

So many new things with this guy.

I came home from work today and everyone was waiting for me to go on our daily walk. My wife opened the door and out Ovie went like a bat out of hell. Up the cul de sac. My wife tried to chase him but that man is fast. He was to the corner before you could blink. I tried to scoop Georgia in the house and was ready to get in the car. She yelled with an authoritative voice and like a bolt of lightning he was back in the house again. This all took less than 20 second which I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

Lesson learned. Cooper and Georgia would sniff around and never go too far. This one is a runner.
    Thanks Everyone!!

Glad everything turned out well. Although it wasn't funny at the moment all I could think of is the theme song from Benny Hill with all the chaos going on while I read this.

    Yikes! What a surprise!

One thing that seems consistent with labs (mine and all that i have known) is their attachment to humans. When off leash they don't seem to want to go far without checking in - even Barley who is very bold and curious and will run off will still stop and look over his shoulder to make sure we are keeping up with his shenanigans. I bet that when he becomes attached to you he'll want to check in and make sure you're on board with his neighborhood exploration!

Zeke was a little over 6 months old and we were at the dog park, I gave Zeke a frisbee to play with, I was thinking of the Benny Hill tune while he was running around with it, so I set a video of him with the frisbee to the tune ...

Glad Ovie came back. Here my first thought was you started a running programme with him.

Soberbyker, I remember when you first posted that video. I'm eating my breakfast with a big smile this morning.

I had a chocolate lab that did that, lol, you know how we got her back? Got in the car with the windows down and drove very slowly down the street, calling her all the way. We live on a cul de sac too. Worked like a charm.
