    Scared to leave the house

My neighbours 11 year old Lab has all of a sudden become fearful of leaving the house (apartment)
She can barely get her out of the house & then she won't move. She resorts to chicken to get her out to go to the bathroom.
we tried an experiment & took her out with myself & my Lab. All was fine.
Then I suggested that I take her out on my own: well, she was fine. Somof course my friend feel now that it's her. That's SHE is anxious or something.
    Anyway: any thoughts?

IN our family my Sis's dog would do things for others, mostly me, that he would not do for her. WE have no idea why he would go up and down stairs for me (and OH) and not her. Laddie's phobias were minor compared to not going out of the house. My only thought for your neighbour is a behaviourist. Maybe you could be present at a meeting as well so an experience observer could see what, if any, differences there are between the humans.

There could be so many reasons why this is happening?

My first thought is..is the dog in some kind of pain? Maybe she needs a Vet wellness check?

Perhaps, something outside has spooked her and now she is afraid?

I would make all attempts to get her to go outside a positive one...I would not "force" her to go outside.

Her owner may have to take baby steps with her...until she feels safe again.
