    Puppy popcorn (?)

Fitzi has been occasionally Dysoning maple keys that have floated onto the deck. Only the maple keys, no young leaves, other flower or seed heads.

Maple keys- I've never heard that name for them. We call them whirlybirds or whirlygigs or helicopters. This seemed a particularly bountiful year for them here, no matter the name. I don't think my dogs ate them intentionally.

Sunnie has what I call "helicopter tail"...now I have to wonder if she ate these when she was running loose.

    Kidding.

I wouldn't let her eat too many. They aren't considered toxic but could cause distress or, if enough, probably blockage.

smartrock, I also never knew what they were called. Not too many maples in Texas . . .

SunDance, I have been saying 'Leave it' when I catch Fitzi (and he does). He seems to be less interested in the last day or two.

Thank you for the links Snowshoe! It's a Silver Maple; we have a big one in the front yard.

Katie has a liking for them too. Her favorite of all is dandelions though. The other day decided to try the straight vinegar spray treatment on them to get rid of at least a few. Turned around and Katie had the funniest face; she munched on one I just sprayed. Guess she does not like dressing on her salad.

I was going to post to ask about these as Ovie has been eating them this past week. Georgia and Cooper never bothered with them but he eats a couple every time we are out. I have also caught him eating dandelions as well.
    Thanks Everyone!!
