I decided I'd had enough of the residue that dryer sheets leave on my clothes/towels and bought a set of alpaca balls to tumble around in the dryer with the clothes. No residue, no static, and supposedly shorter drying times.
No residue. Check. Shorter drying times. Eh. No static. Fail.
But that's OK....the residue was the main thing.
The problem?
Sunnie doesn't like the muted banging around noise while the dryer is spinning. By the time I got upstairs, she was panting and pacing. Of course.
So now, the anxiety wrap has to come out before I turn on the dryer.
At least Dan doesn't seem to mind this particular sound.

That's good to know. I was looking at those but our chicken "hospital" is in the same area of the basement so that would have been a wasted expense. They like the sound of the dryer but not so much on sudden noises.

I use the dryer sheets but only half. Static solved. no residue, see no difference in shorter dryer time.

Funny you should post this. About six months ago, I switched from dryer sheets to these:
Wool Dryer Balls by Pure... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01A4QLJHC...p_mob_ap_share
I love them. No static and no residue. Plus, even though they smell great, I always felt dryer sheets weren’t all that healthy for you.
They do bang around in the dryer though. Doesn’t bother Diggity.

I'd actually gotten some wool balls as well as a set of alpaca balls. The wool balls aren't nearly as loud as the alpaca ones.
I doubt that too many dogs would be bothered by this particular muted sound. Mine are just super sensitive (a.k.a. weird)
