Sigh, Hemi, Expensive week and it's Tuesday.

So before you see the picture. Yeah Hemi is safe.

So last week Friday, one of my hard drives on my main computer died. This is the one that contains the operating system. I had back ups and everything but still a pain. So I got one and ordered it next day. Unfortunately being the weekend that means Monday. So last night I get my hard drive, late UPS didn't show up until 7 p.m. Anyway I set out to change everything out real quick. My computer sits on the floor, so instead of unhooking everything for a simple swap of hard drive I laid down on the floor, got my keyboard down there do i could kick off all the back ups and hooked up the new keyboard. Well, again being a computer guy I have a high end keyboard, actually fairly new. My keyboard is about $160. Well I fixed Hemi an antler with peanut butter in it thinking that will keep him busy while I perform this task. Well he is a curious guy and wants to know what dads doing. Well he comes walking up beside me while I am laying there on the floor and stands right on my keyboard to get a better look, I realize this as I head the snap of the keyboard breaking. Apparently, Logitech doesn't make their keyboards able to support the weight of 95lb labs.

So later that evening, we go outside to potty and Hemi take a poop. Must have been a really good poop. He comes in the house and gets the zoomies right away. Well I wasn't quite prepared for this as normal. He came running back at me full speed, hit my leg about knock me down, bounces off me and hits the coffee table. My glass top coffee table. He was moving in the oposite direction already as the glass top hit the fireplace stone.

He got crated for an hour while I cleaned this all up.

Then this morning, the head came off a $30 Tuffy dog toy while I was taking a shower.

Now any one of these things, normal, but all of them in just 2 days, sheesh. All except for the dog toy were accidents so stuff happens. I am pretty sure he tried to convince me the head coming off the tuffy toy was an accident but I wasn't buying it.

What the hey, he was just trying to help. Opie has to be right in the middle of everything I do too. I'm more of a low tech, hammer swinging, knuckle dragging type so he usually is fine lol

Really a bummer I really hope that's that and no more unforeseen expenses for you!

By the way, maybe Hemi needs more exercise?

Well obviously Logitech is lax in their durability testing. Tuffy too. It's only money, hurts to equipment beats hurts to pets and people all to heck. Were you hurt? That sounds a least like a good bruise.

Have to tell you though, three and a half pound kittens can jump from the cat tree to your keyboard in pursuit of the reflection from your watch dial and all you get is this:

Sorry about all the broken items. A lab's constant good mood though makes it hard to get upset with them. The week can only get better.

They say “when it rains it pours” sorry to hear you are having an expensive week.
It’s Logitech not Labratech that's why it broke.... lol (sorry I had to)

Thankfully Hemi didn’t get cut with the glass. We had a glass table like that too and our first Lab X, Amber got her collar hung up on and flipped it breaking the glass just like yours. The base was still good so we went Home Depot and picked up an unfinished piece of Edge Glued Panel 4x2” by 21/32 table. Distressed, and stained it and a new look with no fear of glass breaking again.
    Something like this:

LOL yeah normal maintenance around the house, he is usually involved. He is terrible at holding a ladder though. But he will put up hammers and screwdrivers from the floor for me.

I hope so too. Nah he had plenty of exercise, he is just normally spunky, this was all just a lot of accidents in a short time.

Luckily I was unhurt, I managed to grab the wall just in time to see the whole thing shatter. Then couple minor cuts picking all the glass up.

Thanks going to swing by there tonight. Like you the stand is fine, its welded metal. This is a great idea to fix it and well I needed a new look. I already miss it. I went to put my laptop down late last night and was like well, where do I put this. Couch, no Hemi gets up there, Floor, no way, has to haul it out and put it on the kitchen table.

Don't you hate those kind of days! At least they weren't expensive vet bills! Material things being broken just means shopping for newer and better

Oh no! Normally your Hemi stories make laugh or at least smile. I will admit this one gave me a smile but only because most if us have had a week like this. Time to cut dad a break now, Hemi!
