Its a lost cause...futile. Once a week or if someone is going to visit.

I do try and run a lint brush over the speakers from time to time.

yeah, after 21 years with at least 2 animals in the house, I've given up... once a week or a quick run-thru if company is coming. However, a year or so ago I treated myself to a Roomba. Wow. that thing is amazing.... Its programmed to come out of its den every day and run around. every other day I grab it in the morning right before I leave and start it in the bedroom, with its little electronic barracades set so it can only do down that end of the house. Its amazing how much fur etc is in it when I come home in the evening! and it only takes a few minutes to clean it and park it for the night, ready to go again. I'm sure if anyone heard me calling it when I get home and its not anywhere obvious, they'd think i was calling a dog or a cat....

Absolutely a lost cause here! between the lab, the lab mix and the husky I've given up! I can tell you that the husky sheds more than my lab though! I'm sure my little jack russell sheds too but it's so minuscule it just gets lost in the mess of the other hair! I used to vacuum every day, now it's every other day or so.

I stopped years ago trying to stay up with it, never mind getting ahead.

Not gone, only gone on ahead - Bruno, Rex, BoJo, Kendal, Kingsley, Moonpie, Avis, Corndog, Stella, and now Achilles

When we had two dogs, every day. Now that it's just Tegan (who is a Lab/Weimeraner), maybe once a week. We really got lucky that she has a Weimaraner single coat and hardly sheds.

So these really work? I've tried to get my Dad interested in buying one - vacuuming once a week all over just isn't enough, especially when the shedding starts!

Everyone here may hate me, but I got extremely lucky with Rio. I sweep the hardwood every few days and get a little pile, but even when i try to ferminate him every 3 days or so, i don't get much off him. My buddy has his older brother (same father, different mother) and you can actually see it fall off of him as he walks.

Once a week during the normal course of the year. When he is shedding a lot, twice per week. I'm constantly picking up clumps in between.

i agree with the every 5 minutes sentiment... LOL

i am just done. since starting classes and being gone tow nights a week and studying like mad all the other days... ugh. i just cant do it anymore. so i vaccum every week and sweep the downstairs usually twice a week. that's it.

yesterday i swept the stairs, the kitchen, and the living room, and then vaccumed it all as well. as i was bringing the dustpan back into the kitchen about 5 tumbleweeds blew by. i just sighed and kept going.

we have two cats, one of which is long haired, and maggie who sheds a ton. then we have lincoln that is basset/lab, and i swear sheds about 17 times worse than any dog i've ever known.

i'm officially waving the white flag over here.

the only room with carpet is the master bedroom so its gets done once a week. I swiffer the tile once a week, maybe twice if the shedding is real bad.

There is no point for me to try and keep up, its a lost cause
