Sounds like great news - less anxiety, more money. What a wonderful combo Sam's probably figured that there are better ways of spending money: treats, yummy food, toys...

I stayed up late last night watching him and he had a bit of light sneezing (as does Linus), harder sneezes at one point when he was on his back. Itching for both - quite a bit, actually. Watery eyes for Linus. I found some nasal saline for my allergies, warmed it up, put a couple sprays in there. My vet told me that could make them forward sneeze and loosen things up, which could expel whatever could be up there. No more reverse sneezing (it's been 24 hours or more). Got up early to watch him, and just little sneezes (both dogs). I ended up canceling the specialist, but making an appointment for the regular vet, which is coming up shortly. That way, if it is something more, my insurance will cover it (have to have them looked at within 48 hours of the start of symptoms) as the rhinoscopy is $1,700 and it would be nice to have some of that reimbursed if that's what we need to do . Also, he should be able to look up there for any signs of irritation and potentially wash it out. As of this morning, just light sneezing for both dogs. It could also be a respiratory virus as they were around several strange dogs during our hikes. Could be allergies. There's also a strain of kennel cough going around that vaccinations don't seem to be covering. My sister's dog had it and she's been at my house a few times. Though, I don't remember any sneezing when my dogs have had kennel cough. I will let you all know what my vet says and where we go from here.

The vet thinks it is either allergies or a virus, potentially even kennel cough. So, benadryl and nasal saline, then see how things go. Hopefully that's all there is and we can be done with this!

Sure good to hear that. Fingers crossed it's something really easy to deal with whatever it may be. M&M

Sounds good. If it was a foxtail like thing, they should have been able to see it.

Both are still doing well. This morning Linus did some reverse sneezing. Since they have the exact same issues, minus Linus' tears (which is fairly typical for him, I'm discovering), I believe it is a virus. The vet said that since they are both vaccinated for kennel cough, even though it could be a different strain, if they were exposed to it, sneezing like this would be an appropriate reaction. They were around at least 10 strange dogs last weekend plus both my sister's and my best friend's dogs got kennel cough at their daycare/boarding facility recently. There is a strain going around. I feel better today.
