My next lab, I wouldnt mind buying a fully trained house dog/pet. The puppy stuff the second time around for me just wont have the same meaning as my initial experience. so 2 grand for a well trained healthy adult is not out of bounds for me. of course, well trained needs to equal well behaved
True. He may just not have enough talent to offer to the gene pool either. A JH in the pointing breeds is pretty much all instinct according to the pointer folks I know. So perhaps the dog didn't really have the "oomph" for the function part of the breed or maybe his temperament was too soft or such. A CH is easier to attain in that breed than w/ labs.
