Urn for My Cracker's Ashes-A Long Time

Finally after more than 3 years after I lost Cracker, I have an urn for his ashes ( it is really hard to see my keyboard thru the tears).

I did not like any of the 'normal' urns and thought of looking on Amazon for something unusual. I found this doggie angel, but it was all grey with no highlights.

My very best friend is an artist and paints in pastels on canvas, but I asked him if he could work his magic on the piece. He knows the feelings I still have for Cracker and we talked about what I wanted.

I think he out did my expectations.

That is beautiful. What a lovely way to keep his ashes.

I'm like Bett. Mine still reside in the container they came in. But, it's partially because my dogs' ashes will be buried at sea (or rather in the Great Lakes) with me.

“It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are.”

Absolutely beautiful. Mine are all still in the carved boxes they came home in. They will go with me when it is my time. I could not bear to bury or release their ashes before then. I find comfort in knowing they are still "with me", as odd as that may sound.

That's lovely and well worth waiting for. A special resting place for your very special boy. Magpie's ashes are in the urn they were returned in, Teddy's Ive never looked in the bag to see what's there, even 11 years later. Hugs to you today.

“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”

Same with Scully. Jolie we returned to her owner. That urn you found (and your friend painted) is beautiful!
