Hi everyone! Wanted to give an update. After a less then friendly lecture this morning she appears to have gotten her act together (for the time being). I was slightly grouchy this morning because of everything with the puppy and also one of my OTHER roommates decided to get drunk, bring friends over and start screaming at 2 am....I had work at 6 am this morning so I was fuming and may have blown up on both girls....the puppies new name is Harvey and he is doing well so far. Gonna update my sig pic with a picture I got of Coal, Remi, and Harvey today. Hopefully everything goes uphill from here

Thank goodness you are there to help. Sounds like a rough night. Hopefully, she will wake up and become a responsible owner.

sounds like your friend isn't serious about this puppy ... Perhaps she needs a scare! Call animal control/ animal police and maybe that'll scare her straight!

The puppy is doing very well so far. Been dewormed and has a vet appointment for Tuesday. The only two problems right now are that she refuses to measure his food and she refuses to listen when I tell her how often he needs to go out to potty...pee ALLLLLLLLLLL over the apartment. Yet somehow when she leaves and it's just Coal and I at home with him no accidents happen...hmmm? Wonder why...

This friend is your roommate? Weren't your roommates mad at you before for rescuing that dachshund puppy you found? Does your landlord have a pet limit? It sounds like you are going to be doing most of the work!!!

Harvey is adorable! Just can't understand how somebody can be mad at him May be wrong, but when you say that when he's with your friend he pees in the apartment like crazy, but he has no accidents when he's with you... Two possible reasons come to mind: she doesn't take him out to potty often enough or I believe it might be even psychological. Kids from dysfunctional families with lots of fights, drunkenness, drugs... often have accidents even when they're pretty old and it's all because of the lousy environment they live in: a lot of tension, frustration, fear...
Anyway, thank you for helping him and taking care of him and hope everything works out all right for Harvey. Fingers and paws crossed. M&M
