Meet Misty - My Latest Foster

Only my second foster this year since adopting Penny I have wanted to put the focus on her. Plus I have become really anxious about fostering. Once they are in and settled it's all good but I get very anxious with worry before. Not sure why after over 25 fosters…

But after much anxiety, Misty arrived! and it's going very well. She is an owner surrender so has lots of training under her belt and loves her crate so - BONUS! No toys are out yet but no issues with the dogs. I monitor play with Penny as it's very - rambunctious. The girls are still figuring each other out as far as play goes. So breaks are forced every minute or so.

SHe is around 4 years old, a catahoula mix. Blue merles tend to go fast when they have no behavioural issues so I predict she will be adopted within 3 weeks and two months.

Cute. Does Misty have segmental heterochromia in one eye (the right one looks 1/2 blue and 1/2 brown in the last picture)?

Not sure what you call it but yes indeed the one eye is half blue. Somewhat common in some breeds (aussies, bc, catahoula, etc.). In catahoulas we call it cracked eyes but it have different names in different breeds. not sure what the clinical term is!

I think sectoral heterochromia is the right term. Yep, lots of merle breeds exhibit it. Very striking -- even in people. I have a good friend who has it (one eye completely blue, the other one 1/2 blue and 1/2 brown).

She is really cute. I had not heard of a Catahoula before. It seems they are a hunting breed. Are there a lot of Catahoulas in rescues?

Rocky is so wonderfully patient. Sweet guy.
