I spoke too soon. I picked up Jagger last night and he's doing great. But after running him through some exercises, I realize he hasn't been taught sit or down on command. I don't think he'll get them figured out by Sunday. I'll keep trying until Sunday AM. Maybe he'll be ready by the next test.

Meals are hard because Jagger and our other boarder, Mason, make things crazy. It would be different if Jagger LIVED with us on a regular basis. I took him outside this morning with some jerky treats and we worked on sit and down. We'll see....

I bet you'd be good with sit between now and the test this weekend, but if Jagger is anything like mine, down could be an issue. It just seems like they wanted to fight it, or they would pop up to a sit within seconds of being down. Realistically you have nothing to lose by trying it, he's pretty smart, and he may just surprise you!!! Good luck with what ever you decide!!!

Here's hoping Jagger learns them soon enough. Good luck!

Jen, was just wondering what Jagger was up to lately. Good luck Sunday to you and Mr. Jagger. He has gotten so big and handsome. WOW!!

I think we are going to pass on the test. I can't get anything done with him this weekend. It's all fun and games with us boarding Grizz's brother Mason too. Oh well. We have plenty of time to try in the summer.

I feel like such a delinquent. Sam is two and hasn't taken the CGC test yet. We ran through a dry run of the test on Saturday at training class. Our trainer will be administering the test in January so I want to finally give it a try. The only thing that gave Sam trouble was the come. He sat there watching me and when I said come he took off running full speed at me and practically plowed me over. Everyone got a good laugh! The trainer said when we practice to give him the sit command when he's about 10 feet from me to try to get him to slow down sooner and not take me out. I also think I need to work on tone of voice. When I tell Sam to come I always use an excited voice which I guess gets him excited to come to me. I think I need to use a more monotone voice for the command so I don't get plowed into! Sam has come so far but the stinker still has a ways to go!

ah well, there's always the next time. Scout doesnt have his either....he'd do ok on a lot of the stuff, but since he does have a few "enthusiasim" issues i don't feel he deserves it yet!
