Those of you that use round up are very careful. This guy just sprays it on like water. It's right around the sidewalk where many, many people (including me) and dogs walk right past the areas he has sprayed. Honestly, he is spraying small grass patches that have popped up. How hard is it to pull it out by hand? We are still avoiding the area. Makes me mad because I wonder how many times he has sprayed the areas around his house and I didn't see. I should just avoid his house all together - I think that's what I will do. I could walk across the street, but that neighbor sprays his yard too (not as much though). I have never seen a more round up happy community in my life.

I have a neighbor/about a block away who has a propane tank strapped to a cart/dolly with a flame thrower hose which he uses to burn his weeds. its not really throwing flames, but it has fire at the end of the hose. I stay away from him cause I always think his contraption will blow up when I walk by. I just call up my neice who is in highschool to come pick my weeds once a month. I like supporting high school students with working/making their own money.

I am so glad someone brought this up. On my dog walks, I have been seeing lots of dead animals, squirrels, birds and such. They have no injury, not near the street, just dead. A couple of the squirrels were in knots in trees, dead. I began to realize how many people in our neighborhood are having their lawns sprayed (the great human competition to have the greenest lawn). I see the chemical people's trucks parked around all the time and you can smell the crap they use. I started remembering when our lab, Loki was sick a couple of years ago. He was deathly ill, we almost lost him. The vet admits that he never did get a definite diagnosis, but Loki finally started getting better throughout the winter. It was October when he became ill and it was a time that we were spending a lot of time at our neighbor's house with Loki and he loved to roll in her grass; she has it sprayed by Tru Green. I've begun putting two and two together.

My mom always makes some snide comment about the weeds on my lawn when she comes over, and tells me which sprays I should buy to get rid of them. I just let them be - other than the prickly ones, those get dug up.

Honestly, if it doesn't hurt my feet to walk on and isn't damaging my property (other than esthetically, in the eyes of some), I leave it alone. People are far too worried about their lawns IMO
