    Washer Recommendations?

My washer of seven years is leaking. We are looking for a new washer that can handle dog beds, dog blankets, dog fur and some human clothes. Do you have any recommendations? It is impossible to fit a front load washer in our laundry room because of the layout.

We bought a Samsung front load washer about a year ago. I know you said you didn't want a front load but it has a sanitize cycle I use for dog beds and stuff that can take the heat. The sanitize cycle super heats the water and gets the beds nice and clean. If you can find this feature, I would recommend it.

I have an LG top load washer/dryer pair that I LOVE. Access Denied

It has a steam cycle, a sanitize cycle, an allergen cycle, and a tub clean cycle. I can fit the comforter off of our bed as well as the sheets in it. I haven't washed the dog beds yet, but I've washed some blankets and it cleaned them fantastically.

I have a Samsung washer(front loader) but if I get to buy another washer, I will buy a top loader washer. My clothes smell bad sometimes and I use baking soda a lot and still my clothes stinks. I haven't used the sanitized cycle yet.

I recently got a new LG top loading. It's not the one above, but this one. We did catch it on sale. I like the big tub and it can do big loads. In fact it can handle loads bigger than my drier. It has several spin speeds and gets more water out of the load than my old washer. The drying time is greatly reduced. I didn't think I would like a machine that did so much on it's own, but so far so good. It will somehow weigh the load and add the water the load needs. It does have a bedding/bulky selection that puts in more water than the other selections. Over all, I'm pleased with it.

As we just purchased a new home - we purchased all new appliances. We bought whirlpool cabrio top loaders.

Some people may disagree - but our appliance guy told us to stay away from LG and Samsung this year. They have had notoriously bad electrics, and they are hugely expensive to repair if anything goes wrong with the motherboard or anything like that.

We bought a new Samsung high efficiency top loading washer and matching drier at Lowe's on Black Friday. I love both units. I wish I had them when my kids were younger and both lived at home because the capacity is huge. I can easily fit a king sized quilt in both the washer and drier and don't have to go to the laundry mat to wash bedding anymore. Love them!

Have stuck with Sears and Kenmore for ages. I'll normally get 11-13 years of use. All top loaders.

I have a front load LG set. It's two years old. I did not get sanitize, etc. The hot water cycle works just as well for me. I love that it never gets unbalanced. Some people have issues with mildew smells, but I do not. You're supposed to leave the door ajar (there's a magnet that holds it closed without shutting the door the whole way) which allows it to dry out. I also clean the rubber lip where the dog hair and water pools with bleach about once a month or so. It fits dog beds, comforters, etc. Finally, my favorite part (and I'm assuming all newer washers have this) is that you can delay the start time of your wash.

Home Depot has a huge sale on Memorial Day and July 4th if you can hold out. I got my set for around $1,200. Unlike what xracer above said, I read a consumer reports magazine about washers and dryers as I was in the market and it said to stay away from Whirlpool, Kenmore, GE, etc. and to stick with LG and Samsung.

I have to say also, that I love having a stackable set. It creates so much space in my utility room, which is huge for me because I have a very small house. My utility room is pretty much my favorite room in the house now!
