    Muddy Feet???

Archie just came inside from a romp in the new snow that fell last night. He left muddy footprints all over the kitchen floor. WHAT!!! Turns out there is a small patch of clear grass next to the house under the exhaust for the furnace. Your right, he decided it was a good digging spot. Brat!

I have to put towels down in the kitchen. I tell mine to wipe their feet and they sit on the towels and it gets most of it off before they hit the carpet lol

Archie! You dirty dog. One of the (many) good things about lots of snow is nice clean doggy feet and you are spoiling it for your Mum. You (lovable) monster.

LOL!!! With Sunshine I just gave up. She would come in so amped up, there was no way to even try to contain her. There was the main brown path down the living room, then it fades as it branches to the couch, bedroom dining room...

I gave up on the car early in her life with me, realizing it was now a dog car. There are always four clown sized prints on the drivers seat as she hops in. The cup holder on 'her side' of the car is for her left foot, the ledge on her side is crusted brown where she rests her right front leg, so she can look out the window. My headrest is crusted on the left side as she stands behind me to look out my window. The back of the drivers side window is also crusted as she rests her head there if it is all the way down. I keep a dog towel by me to wipe drool/lick slime off the steering wheel and shifter. I gave up worrying about the dash and inside windshield. I deal with them once or twice a year. It is a given I will have to turn of the wipers at least once during any car trip, as her nose/head hits it. The radio magically comes on all the time, nose again.

She is getting better as she matures. But... It is still a magical mystery tour every time. I can tell her this is a business trip, we are just going to the store, and it is still YEAH!!! THE CAR!! THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!!

How did I get here??? Oh, yeah. Muddy footprints into the house was the least of my issues with her as a pup. I picked my battles. Muddy prints was way down on the list back then!!! And with the car? What am I going to do, give her a bath before getting in every time? Even after being out and about for hours she is still ready to go. YEAH!!! THE CAR!! THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!!!! I bet I could make her wait now, while I wipe her feet. But what is the use. I planned on replacing the carpet when she got older anyway.

My god - HOW do you get your dog to sit there and have his/her feet wiped. I am with Woodrow - I have GIVEN up! There is no way I can get squiggly-butt-Barley to neatly sit on a matt and have me wipe his feet. There are TOO many other battles to wage. I just mop. Although - the other day, when feeding him in the morning after I had "chucked" the ball for he and my mother's lab Hershey; I realized that he looked completely gray. Completely gray - except for his head. It unnerved me for a moment until I realized that he was actually entirely crusted with mud. Wow - he probably weighed 5 pounds more than his lean mean 58 pounds. (And he eats A TON!) he then had a rare and super hated enforced bath.-img_6945-1-jpg

I always post this video anytime we hear anything about mud... as you can tell by video and my sig pic, Luna is the mud queen.
I have about ten towels in my car at any given time and just wipe the paws. I keep baby wipes back there too and a spray bottle of water to help get it off.

Just saw this ad for "Paw Wash". What do you think? Would it work for your dogs? I'm thinking it would be pretty hard to get Mocha to stand still while I pushed his leg in a tube. It's about $25 on Amazon.

Yep, pick my battles here. Fortunately, our kitchen is huge and has a tile floor plus there is a baby gate to the living room where the carpet is.

Can anyone tell me why dogs can only count to 3? The first three feet get cleaned with no problem but then they take off. WAIT, there's one more foot. Makes me laugh.
