Oh gosh...I'm so sorry to hear this. I hate these kinds of usually age-related issues.

We've had kidney failure in cats, never dogs, and I found the best thing to do once they started to avoid eating was just to give them whatever they'd agree to eat. I also used plain Pedialyte to moisten the food to help ensure that they'd stay hydrated since water consumption would also go down (after an initial water gorging period).

I hope the heart discussion goes well.

Oh no. I'm so sorry to hear this.

Sending lots of hugs for you to decide. And sending good thoughts it was just a shadow on the heart issue.

Thanks everyone for thinking about my Britt. Im much calmer this morning and ready to tackle this. She ate her breakfast this morning and in a few hours ill take her in for fluids and go over a plan with the vet for her kidneys. I know its progressive but if i can make her comfortable and extend her life i will certainly give it my best effort.

The vet said if we can keep her eating, we have a chance. She was eating her breakfast but she missed a few dinners this week and thats not like her at all. She hasnt missed a meal in almost 17 years
