    Ugghhh!!! Worms!!!

Foster pup has worms!! Looks like tapeworm... Looks like a little flat piece of rice? We were on our walk and I saw one coming out his butt... Like it was wiggly(EW) and everything... The SPCA will fix him, but do I need to worry about my girl????? Eek!

    Gross!

Tapeworms are from ingesting flea eggs. Make sure everyone is flea-free in the home and you shouldn't have problems. I'm guessing the SPCA treated your new foster for fleas before you brought her home? If you are concerned, you can take a fecal sample to your vet. I personally do not worm unless there are worms, with the exception of heartworm preventative. Tapeworms, while you don't really want your dog to have them, are typically not a huge deal (like heartworms).

Gack--I'd want them GONE, so I'd be off to the vet for dewormer! Worms are so gross....

Ew! I would be at the vet for a dewormer too... I hate worms. They are disgusting.

Gross I hate worms too. I hope you made it to the SPCA to get the dewormer . Make sure to keep the yard clean and watch for worms in your other pets.

Yuck! I hate just the thought of a dog having worms. Frank came to us with whipworms. We ran a fecal on Sam but he never got it. Sam (and now Frank) are on sentinel. Fortunately whipworms are covered.

When Archie joined us he had hook worms. Not that we saw anything it showed up in his fecal test.

Hopefully the SPCA will medicate quickly. I would pick up any poops quickly. Mardi never got the worms and she is a poop eater. Had to be quick and thorough about keeping the yard clean.

SPCA was quick with the meds! Thank goodness. So grossed out... pretty sure I'll be obsessing about poops for a while! And my girl will be tested! She isn't a poop eater, but still....

Stella had them all and was treated by her fosters. The tapeworm didn't show up until after she'd been with us for awhile and we treated her for that. The vet said for tapeworm they don't treat the other dogs because of how it's transmitted. . Anthony never got them and she cleared up immediately.
