    You'll be fine. Just start practicing now. I've got a write up on teaching recall I've posted here before. I'll try to find it for you. I think having a solid recall, emergency recall and teaching your dog to be near you is just good practice. You never know what could happen. Good for you for wanting to do more with your dog! They need more than just leashed walks and you should feel confident in them knowing they will be safe.
